Abstract:

To response the concerns of potential risks associated with use of the harmful substances inthe synthesis processes of nanosilver, many researchers are utilize a wide range of environmentally friendlysolvents, reducing agents and stabilizing agents. Green synthesis methods have advantages overconventional methods involving chemical agents associated with environmental toxicity. In the presentarticle we compare the various green synthesis methods of silver nanoparticle. Green synthesis methodsinclude polysaccharide, Tollens, mixed-valence polyoxometallates, irradiation and biological synthesis ofnanoparticle by microorganisms and plants. In polysaccharide method, silver nanoparticles are synthesizedby using water as the solvent and polysaccharide as the capping agent. The Ag nanoparticles in Tollensprocess are prepared by reduction of Ag(NH3)2+ with aldehydes. Polyoxometallates or POMs method iscarried out in water and have the capability of redox reaction without destruction of structure. Agnanoparticle could be prepared by irradiation of its salts without using any reducing agent.Microorganisms, in synthesis of silver nanoparticle, can act as both reducing and capping agent tosuccessfully prepared Ag nanoparticle.
