Preparation and characterization of V-MgO nano catalyst and investigation of its catalytic activity in liquid phase reactions

MgO-supported vanadium oxide catalysts with different vanadium loadings have been prepared byimpregnation method using ammonium monovanadate as precursor. The prepared catalysts have been characterized byelemental analysis XRD and SEM techniques. The catalytic activity of the prepared catalysts was evaluated for the liquidphase oxidation of benzyl alcohol to obtain benzaldehyde, using tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as the oxidant. Theeffects of reaction time, oxidant/alcohol molar ratio and reaction temperature were investigated.
