Abstract:

In this paper, the folate-modified–chitosan coated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) were preparedfor tumor targeted drug delivery. For structural targeted of MCM-41 silica based drug delivery systems, Surfacemodification of silica nanoparticles performed by coating with chitosan polymer modified with folic acid as targetedmaterial. Folic acid covalently conjugated to chitosan molecules. In this study, a novel drug delivery systemwas fabricated with a loading capacity of about 18% wt and also an increment in cellular uptake. The folatechitosanconjugates were characterized using FTIR spectrum analysis. In this work, we use from capecitabine asanticancer drug and MSNs-CTS-FA system as nanocarrier in order to targeted delivery of capecitabine into cancer cells.
