Abstract:

In this work four type of different carboxylate ferroxane adsorbent including para hydroxybenzoate ferroxane(PHBF), maleate ferroxane (MF), para aminobenzoate ferroxane (PABF) and fumarate ferroxane (PHBF) are studied forremoval of vanadium. The mentioned adsorbents are iron-based nanoparticles. The adsorption of vanadium was studiedby batch experiments and the effects of different operational parameters such as: contact time, solution PH, type ofadsorbent, adsorbent dose and the initial concentration of vanadium were investigated under the temperature was 25° Cand the constant agitation rate. The maximum absorption rate and adsorption capacity of vanadium were about 99.95%and 288.12 mg/g, respectively for PABF. This work proved that carboxylate ferroxane nanoparticles are promisingcandidates for vanadium adsorption from aqueous solutions.
