Abstract:

This paper is devoted to study isotropic and anisotropic percolation threshold of mixed ellipsoidal inclusionsutilizing 3D Monte Carlo simulation. Electrically percolated inclusions yield in electrical conductivity that is a specialfeature of nanocomposites. Electrical percolation is influenced by so many factors and conditions such as electrontunneling distance, geometry, anisotropy and mixing of inclusions. In the present work the percolation threshold analysedconsidering the effect of mixture of inclusions with different shapes, by options of different tunneling distances. In thecase of anisotropic several orientation ranges studied to assess its influence on percolation threshold, and to achieve therange during which percolation threshold become minimum. Mixture of oblate and prolate ellipsoids result in lowerpercolation thresholds, however normal distribution of various aspect ratios, result in higher percolation threshold.
