Abstract:

The novel magnetic nanocomposites of carbon nanotubes decorated with SrFe8MgCoTi2O19 nanoparticleshave been prepared by a chemical co-precipitation method. The structural, magnetic and electromagnetic properties ofsamples were studied as a function of volume percentage of CNTs by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer and vector network analysis. The XRDresults showed that the nanocomposites were synthesized successfully. Field emission scanning electron microscopymicrographs demonstrated that homogeneous and high level of dispersion of CNTs and Sr-hexaferrite nanoparticles innanocomposite samples were obtained. The saturation magnetization of the nanocomposite samples was found todecrease by an increase in volume percentage of CNTs. The vector network analysis results show that the highest valueof reflection loss values were obtained in optimum volume percentage of CNTs in nanocomposite samples. The resultsindicate that, these novel types of nanocomposites with appropriate amount of CNTs hold great promise for microwavedevice applications.
