Abstract:

In this research polyvinylchloride based nano-composite heterogeneous anion exchange membraneswere prepared by solution casting technique. The effect of PANI-co-MWCNT composite nanoparticles concentration onmembrane electrochemical properties was studied. Membrane water content was decreased by increase of nanoparticlesconcentration. Ion exchange capacity was improved initially by increase of nanoparticle concentration up to 2 %wt andthen showed decreasing trend by more additive content from 2 to 4 %wt. IEC was enhanced again with more increase inadditive concentration from 4 to 16 %wt. Membrane potential was also improved in NaCl and Na2SO4 ionic solutionsby increase of nanoparticles content. Membrane permeability and flux were enhanced initially in both mono and bivalentionic solution by increase in additive concentration up to 1 %wt and then showed decreasing trends.
