Abstract:

In this paper The novel chitosan-gelatin/MWCNT scaffolds containing different percentage offunctionalized multiwall carbon nanotubes (0, 0.0025, 0.005, 0.01 wt%), were prepared using freeze dryingmethod for bone tissue engineering applications. The prepared composites were characterized by FTIR andFE-SEM. volume changes of porosities was measured by liquid-displacement method. The results showedthat the composites with the porosity of 60-95% and pore size of 40-200 μm could be obtained bylyophilization. The porosity of scaffolds was significantly increased with the content of functionalizedMWCNT. The Microstructural findings indicate the potential application of developed novel chitosangelatin/MWCNT composite scaffolds in bone tissue engineering.
