Abstract:

In this work mesoporous nanocrystalline chromium free Fe-Al-Ni catalysts were prepared by coprecipitationmethod using different precipitants and employed in high temperature water gas shift reaction The prepared catalystswere characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption (BET), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR)and transmission electron microscopies (TEM) techniques. The BET results revealed that the prepared catalyst withNaOH possessed a high surface area of 177.4 m2 g-1 with an average pore size of 4.4 nm. The TEM analysis alsoshowed the crystallite size smaller than 20 nm for the catalyst prepared by NaOH. The catalytic resultsshowed that theprepared catalyst with NaOH exhibited higher catalytic activity than the catalyst prepared with Na2CO3 and thecommercial chromium containing one.
