Abstract:
Brucellosis or Malta fever is a contagious infection having a special place for being commonbetween human and domestic animals. Brucella, an intracellular bacteria causes brucellosis. Onetherapeutic method for brucellosis is Cotrimoxazole and Rifampin. These antibiotics have low efficacybecause of their limited potential of translocation across the cell membrane. In the current study, weaimed to increase the efficacy of these antibiotics in eradicating brucella melitensis (through augmentingtheir capacity to penetrate in to cells) and reducing consuming dose; for this purpose, we performedloading of Rifampin and Cotrimoxazole in nanocarrier and examining the efficacy of Rifampin andCotrimoxazole alone and in combination on Brucella-infected murine phagocytes through CFU method.
