Abstract:
Pre-eclampsia is a syndrome which is characterized by the increase in blood pressure above 130090, oedema and proteinuria, and is one of the leading causes of maternal death and of complications in pregnancy that can occur in the second half of pregnancy.Approximately 20 % of pregnant women in developing countries and 6 % of pregnant women worldwide are affected, and it is the second leading cause of maternal death in developing countries, including Iran . The objective of this study was to determine the differences of hemorheological parameters in association to haematological tests in patients with preeclampsia (blood pressure (diastolic) > 90 mm Hg, blood pressure (systolic) > 130 mm Hg and proteinuria > 2 g/23 h). This case-control study was conducted on healthy pregnant women visiting Taleghani and Al Zahra hospitals in Tabriz, Iran, as well as on women with pre-eclampsia admitted to these two hospitals. Fifty-eight samples were selected as controls and 6+ subjects were selected as cases. The blood samples were prepared with their consents. Parameter measured included MCH- MCHC- MCV- Htc – Hbg in blood.lipid profils such as cholesterol and TG - HDL- LDL. In comparison between patients with preeclampsia and normal pregnant women we found statistically elevated values of MCH and MCHC and TG . Non-significant changes were observed in values of MCV,Htc - Hbg- HDL and LDL. Our results suggest that hemorheological parameters and lipid profils play an important role in preeclampsia.
