Abstract:
The present work was done in vitro (Plant Biotechnology Research Lab.) to investigate of the effects of the blue laser-diode (BLD) and red laser-He Ne (RLHN) irradiation on the cell growth of red-fleshed apple (RFA) (Malus sp.). Callus tissue were induced from young leaf of RFA and cell suspension culture were subsequently formed from calli. The normal cell suspension into L-shape tube test exposed to laser radiation for 22 min. The fresh cell weight (FCW), dry cell weight (DCW), cell volume after sedimentation (CVS), cell number (CN) and cell viability (CV) as criterion of cell growth was recorded at 2, 4, 8, 12 days cell culture period after lasers treatment. The plant cell growth was a significantly reduced in the presences of the BLD and RLHN irradiation as compared to control and darkness, respectively. The FCW and DCW was enhanced by BLD irradiation whereas did not effected by RLHN radiation. Among in all treatments, only 32.4 mWcm-2 intensity of BLD irradiation enable to increasing CVS content in RFA cells. For CN content was observed no changes induced by RLHN and BLD irradiation. It's also observed that BLD due to high power intensity decreased in the CV percentage more than RLHN irradiation. It's also noticed that concerning in contrast impact of time with lasers irradiation had diversity or irregular effects in cell growth. Our results suggest that RFA cells is more sensitive BLD than low-intensity RLHN, presumably because of produce innumerable effects through generate stress condition by high-intensity BLD irradiation inhibition from cell expansion or cell division, finally death cells.
