Abstract:
Seismic demand analysis of special moment steel frames has beeninvestigated in this paper. 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-storey of three dimensionaldesigned structures has been modeled in OpenSees Program. Thestructures were Analyzed and Designed based on ASCE 7-2, 10standard, ANSI/AISC 360-10 and ANSI/AISC 341-10 Specificationsand some two dimensional frames were adopted from these archetypesfor Evaluation of the performance objectives. Various Source ofNonlinearity such as Material and Geometric Nonlinearities have beenIntended in Finite Element Models. To consider the uncertainty in onehand and create comprehensive fragility curve on the other hand,incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) using Far Field Ground Motions Sethas been utilized. The structure performance would be presented interms of fragility curves and limit state frequencies . AfterwardsBased on Nonlinear Static Push over analysis, IDA and Fragility CurvesPerformance Evaluation based on FEMA P-695 will take to evaluate theStandard quality in providing Collapse Limit states safety margins.Analysis shows that the Standard provides an effective capability inproviding uniform risk and acceptable Safety against MaximumConsidered Earthquakes (MCE).
