Interfacial behavior of anionic synthetic surfactant (SDS), a natural surfactant (Glycyrrhizic acid), and their mixtures have been studied by surface tension measurement. Pure Glycyrrhizic has higher surface tension values at critical micelle concentration (CMC) than SDS, indicating that it is inferior to SDS and also commonly used synthetic surfactants. Addition of SDS to (Glycyrrhizic acid) gives a gradual lowering of surface tension values at the CMC.
