Acoustic echo cancellation plays crucial role in communication system and wireless telephony networks. Due to the sparse nature of echo, Some adaptive algorithms like NLMS show poor performance in echo cancelation. Here, we extending the concept of improved proportionate adaptation to thenormalized subband adaptive filter (NSAF), and four proportionate algorithms were created; Improved Proportionate Normalized Subband Adaptive Filter (IPNSAF), improved IPNSAF (IIPNSAF), Set-Membership IPNSAF (SM-IPNSAF) and Improved SM-IPNSAF (SM-IIPNSAF). Simulation results in Mathlab on established algorithms show good performance in sparse channel
