Serial Peripheral Interface is one of the most commonly used serial protocols for communication in embed systems and short distance communication between peripherals of a system or a chip. SPI makes the communications simple and also can be used for high speed peripherals.This paper represents design and Implementation of SPI protocol on FPGA with separate Master and Slave mode and an Interface of Slave for display controller drivers. We simplify the protocol to gain high speed and less area utilization than previous works and keeping main features of SPI. Also we used latest SPI block guide from Motorola to gain compatibility to other systems.The SPI designed with VHDL and synthesized on SPARTAN 6 FPGA (xc6slx9) with ISE Synthesizer.
