Abstract:
Nowadays classification of stones in factories is done by human (unlike other operations that are automatic), therefore using automatic methods for classification is required. Since so far in previous studies such research have not been carried out on travertine stone, so from this side the study is a novel research that can solve significantly problemsof classification in travertine factories. In this paper, a set of travertine stones including 120 images from four groupswas prepared. The wavelet transform as a feature extraction method is used and maximum likelihood (ML) classifier is applied. The simulation results show that the mentioned methods has good performance in travertine stone industry
