Abstract:

Emergency physicians frequenlly are responsible for care of patients with anterior dislocation of shoulder, Typically, the standard of care includes pre reduclion X-ray, close reduction and post reductinn X-ray. The purpose of this study was to determitie the irloidence of ctiniually Significant post reducrion radiographic abnormaljties that were not seen on Initial X-ray images in patients who presented to emergency department with anterior shoulder dislocation. Objectives: To detetmioe the frequency of clinically significant findings in post reduclion x-ray in patients with uncomplj cared anterior shoulder dislocation. Method & materials: This study was retrospective and the date was collected fromm the patient files and analyzied by SPSS software. Results: We srudied 196 cases of anterior shoulder dislocation in Rasool Akrilm emergency departrcment. The meail age of the patiznls was 33.4 ( 5 - 83) years old. 80% of them were inale and 20% were fermale.. The majority of paricnts were in 20-30 years age group. There were no abnormal physical findings except dislocation annd no abnormal findings in posl reduction X-rays in the all.Conclusion : Post resuction X-ray evaluation relay revealsany clinically signifant abnormality after reducing the dislocated shoulder.it is recommended to validata the result of this study with future prospective project.
