Abstract:

Externally bonded reinforcement (EBR) is the common method in using FRP (fiber-reinforcedpolymer) to rehabilitate and strengthen reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Debonding in FRPconcretesystem has been found the most critical problem in applying the mentioned method. Hence, accurate estimation of the capacity of FRP-concrete bond seems to be an essential subject.Experimental data and six existing models are collected in the current study. By assessing the existingmodels, the current study shows the effective parameters used in the models are varied and comparingresults of the models with the experimental results has demonstrated the variety of the model output. Amodel using genetic algorithm is proposed in the study which presents better prediction than otherexisting models.
