خلاصه مقاله:
In this study the effect of earthquake excitations with extensive vertical motion on repairable steelbuildings, designed based on the ‘Directed-Damage Design’ (DDD) idea, has been investigated. DDDidea means guiding the damage to some pre-decided parts of the structural system, so that other partsdon’t experience any major plastic deformation. Considered buildings are regular 10-, 15- and 20-storybuildings and have rocking tubular frame structural system with some yielding-plates dampers at baselevel. Results of nonlinear time history analyses of the buildings show that the proposed structuralsystem acts quite satisfactorily even in case of extensive vertical ground excitations.
