خلاصه مقاله:
The oxidation of alcohols is one of the most important reactions in organic synthesis. Green chemistry uses highly efficient and environmental benign synthetic procedures to deliver life saving medicines, accelerating guide optimization processes in drug discovery, with reduced needless environmental impact [1].Magnetically nano Fe3O4 efficiently catalyzes green oxidation of primary and secondary benzylic and aliphatic alcohols to give the corresponding carbonyl products in good yields. Nano magnetic Fe3O4, due to highly active and specific centers of ultra-size, coupled with high magnetic specification has been found with some fruitful utilizations in organic synthesis [2]. In this research we used Fe3O4/Al2O3 nanoparticles as catalyst to obtain the optimum conditions catalyst for oxidation of benzylic alcohol (4-Br benzyl alcohol) in presence of hydrogen peroxide as oxidant compand. Hydrogen peroxide, an ideal oxidizing reagent, is one of the safest and least wasteful oxidants and gives water as the only by- product. In addition, the magnetically nano Fe3O4 catalyst could be reused up to four runs without any significant loss of activities. The best results obtained in 50◦C. The Advantages of the method are the green, high performance, environmentally friendly process as well as the relatively short time.
