Abstract:
The basic reproduction number, , is defined as the expected number of secondary cases produced by a single (typical) infection in a completely susceptible population. The purpose of this paper is generalization of the definition of reproduction number which is adapted to periodic and seasonal epidemics models such as the case of cutaneous leishmaniasis and periodic SIR models.
