Abstract:
Trauma has been reported as a psychological experience that scars the individual or an experience that brings into the spotlight wounds, fears, guilty desires, or unresolved conflicts that one has failed to deal with and that demand action. Theories about the causes and effects of trauma or crisis have been offered ever since Freud reported his findings. This paper examines Ensi’s behavior, a character in Mohammad Mehdi Askarzade’s serial, Jerahat that stems from psychological problems. The theories of two psychologists can explain her behavior: Freudian theories concerning the origins of the unconscious, the defense mechanisms and core issues, his view of dream symbols, and the meaning of death and sexuality and Lacan’s theory of the psychological development of the infant. The study demonstrates how Ensi’s behavior is a result of psychological problems that can be part of everybody’s daily lives and human experience.
