Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of teaching idioms on female students’ intrinsic motivation. 30 female students of a teaching course were randomly selected and divided into two control and experimental groups. The experimental group received treatment during the course. The instruments used in the study were an interview and a validated motivation questionnaire that was pre- and post-tested in both groups. The statistical results of the study indicated that there was a significant relationship between teaching idioms and female students’ intrinsic motivation. This conclusion would be fruitful for curriculum developers as well as teachers to consider teaching idioms in their process of teaching.
