Abstract:

Saadi’s Bustan is a valuable social and moral prose in which the poet has dealt with different subjects. Paying attention to these subjects results in the welfare of human beings and brings them closer to their utopia. Since Iranian people are among those ancient nations with their own culture, different periods of their past should be sought in foreign references and there are no references left in Persian language for 300 years after Islam and Arabic references should also be used. So, the present paper has tried to show the contents that existed in Iranian culture before Islam and are not only mentioned in Saadi’s Bustan, but also in his other works. Saadi has used Arabic references directly or indirectly in his works. The reflection of this character and Iranian nature is sought in his ideas in the form of his prose in Bustan in five subjects. It should be noted that although Saadi’s ideas have some traces of Iranian nation, Quranic and Islamic concepts are delicately spread throughout his work.
