Abstract:

This study investigated EGAP (English for general purpose) and ESAP (English for specific academicpurpose) teachers' self-evaluation patterns used during their teaching process in different Englishlanguage classes. The participants were twenty ESAP and EGAP teachers from Behshahr IslamicAzad University, Amol Islamic Azad University and Babolsar State University. Data were collectedby using a questionnaire and taking interview which measuring teachers’ self-evaluation patterns intheir teaching process. The results have indicated that EGAP teachers were more likely to selfevaluatein comparison to ESAP teachers because of their sensitivity and acquaintance to variousteaching methodologies. Furthermore, in conclusion some recommendations for educators andteachers have been mentioned.
