Abstract:

One of the main problems of macro cities in developing countries including Tehran is the absence of arid land in the urban context and the application of limited resources in these spaces in emergency situations, especially for the temporary sheltering of casualties. An attempt to recognize open and green urban spaces is considered as a main priority in temporary sheltering of people after the earthquake. Parks are considered as a part of urban green spaces which – due to the lack of urban open space – have a great potential for temporary sheltering in the time of emergency; and with planning, preparation and multi-purpose application, theseplaces would be used both in ordinary circumstances (ecological, recreational, etc) and in emergency circumstances (temporary sheltering).Defining common criteria of after earthquake temporary sheltering and parks’ designs, this paper aims at selecting a suitable park for temporary sheltering of casualties applying Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The parks include Taleghani, Lavizan, and Prdisan Park situated on SabzHemmat route.
