Halvah (Cekme) is a traditional product of Kastamonu that has been made and eaten for centuries. One and important condition for achieving efficiency in markets, is free entry and exit. Barriers to entry generally thought to be protection for incumbent firms so that they can set distortionary high prices and restrict competition in markets. In our study, we searched barriers to entry in Halvah sector in Kastamonu. To this aim, we conducted query to producers in Kastamonu and evaluate them
