Comparison of, history of child abuse and five personality factors in people with multiple sclerosis and healthy people

The purpose of present study was conducted to compare child abuse history, and five personality factors in people with MS and normal people. In order to test the study’s assumptions, ex post facto plan was used. The statistical society was all of the people with MS in Isfahan and members of MS society in this city. The sample included 100 diseased and 100 healthy people in which the diseased sample was randomly chosen from MS medical centers’ list and 100 healthy people were chosen based on matching in view to age, gender, education, marital status and income level, from the available healthy group. The instruments were, Big-Five personality traits and child abuse questionnaires. In order to classify the data, SPSS software was used and data analysis was conducted by covariance analysis. The results showed that child abuse history and neuroticism in people with MS was significantly more than healthy people. Agreeableness, openness to experiences , extroversion, and conscientiousness were significantly more among healthy people.
