ETHICAL ISSUES IN GENETIV DIAGNOSIS FOR IRANIAN FAMILIES WITH HEMOPHILIA A AND B

The aim of this report is to review some of the factors affecting the genetic counseling of families with inherited haemostatic disorder, and to address the need for developing a process that can be used to critically review issues surrounding genetic tests for the hemophiliac in Iran. A major challenge for healthcare professionals is to balance the hard realities of hemophilia inheritance with hope and to implement policies that are consistent with local religious beliefs. Due to the lack social support, systems in most developing countries, together with inadequate and unreliable diagnostic facilities for hemophilia , genetic counseling based upon precies molecular diagnostic techniques, assumes a particular importance . ethical considerations pertaining to genetic diagnostic tests for hemophilia engender a wide range of moral dilemmas. The establishment of ethical committiees os recommended in order to draw up policies and establish ethically justified strategies.
