Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the living skills training on improvement of mental health and reduced mental disorders among high school female students. Population of this study includes all female freshmen of public high schools in Tehran, district 4, where the living skills training plan is experimentally conducted there. There was taken 210 samples of female students from high schools of district 16 of education in Tehran, that there has been chosen 60 students with highest grades in mental health test by random sampling (SCL90R, 15 scores out of 50 scores and higher) and divided randomly into two groups, test and control. After conducting the pre-test, test group received living skills training in ten meetings, once a week. After training, mental health test (SCL90R_) was conducted in both test and control groups. For data analysis, there were used descriptive statistics methods (exponent, median, mean, standard deviation) and for testing the hypotheses, there was used inferential statistics (multi variant covariance). Results indicated that living skills training improved the mental health of students as well as reducing some components of mental disorders.
