Abstract:

This article is written in order to compare theories of management of media organizations of Turkey & Iran on TV channels of Khabar in Iran & TRT Turk in Turkey. The research method was content analysis. The research population was the news broadcasted from 5th August to 5th November 2013. Researchers chose foreign news at 22:00 for Khabar & foreign news at 18:30 for TRT Turk. Method of sampling was mixed with two techniques of Multistage & Quota. Researching of the Libertarian , Authoritarian ,’ Social Responsibility’ & Development media theories about foreign news showed that more than half of foreign news on Shabake Khabar had supported the libertarian theory, but most of foreign news on TRT Turk had supported both libertarian & development normative theories of media. Dispersion of news on TRT Turk is more than Khabar channel. Differences between support of media theories on TV channels had been statistically meaningful. In case of dominant news in Khabar Channel most of news had a Social Responsibility perspective, while Authoritarian & Development theories were the most prevalent perspectives in TRT Turk. Considering relations of Iran & Turkey it should be said that economic ties of both countries were mostly reflected in news broadcasted with a development media theory. Liberal theory had been the most dominant system for domestic issues and foreign relations news of other countries in both channels.
