ANALYSIS OF ADMINISTRATIVE BARRIERS TO PISTACHIO INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT: A CASE STUDY IN RAFSANJAN CITY

Abstract:

Integrated pest management is considered as a sustainable control plant pest's method. In this method, using of chemical pesticides is used after agronomical and biological pest control as the last way. Pistachio is one of the most currencies of agricultural crop that significantly makes up contribution Iran's agricultural exports. IPM history in Iran shows although this method has over 20 years’ experience in Iran but it has not been used completely. The purpose of this study is to analyze of administrative barriers to pistachio integrated pest management from Iranian pistachio research center, medical plant Clinics and department of agriculture staff's viewpoint. Random sampling was used in this study. The study population included all employees' Iranian pistachio research center and department of agriculture. The sample size was chosen 85 based on Morgan table. Administrative barriers to pistachio IPM were divided into three categories: Technical and organizational barriers, Social and cultural barriers and economic barriers. The face validity of the measurement tool was approved by teachers and experts and Cronbach's alpha for the items measuring was 0.85 that number is acceptable. The results showed that the Individual factors (Age, gender, work experience, education, and ...) Have no influence on selection Technical and organizational barriers, Social and cultural barriers and economic barriers by staffs and all the staff have believed that most important limiting factor for IPM Performance is Economic barriers and then Technical and organizational barriers and finally social and cultural barriers.
