خلاصه مقاله:
The present study investigated the learners’ beliefs about English school tests and how they expect their teachers to be as hard-working as possible and make them ready to take their English test in a stress-free condition. The participants of the study included fifteen male and female learners who are passing their high school period. To collect desirable data, learners were invited to participate in a semi-structured interview session to probe their beliefs about English tests. Findings cleared that learners were reluctant to take English tests since they preferred oral exam and communicating in English with their classmates and teacher while it was not fulfilled in their class. It was found that learners expected their teachers to have them prepared for tests out of the classroom environment to be able to compete with their counterparts in regional exams. It suggested that there should be a close relationship between language teaching and testing paving the way for both teachers and learners to have a friendly environment in the classroom, which finally leads to the occurrence of learning.
