In this paper, a new method for maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic (PV) system is presented. Output characteristic curve of PV system is varied by the change in radiation of sunlight and causes the receiving power of PV system to be variable. The aim of this paper is to track the maximum power point of PV system using a new method i.e. second-order sliding mode control in a way that its output which is a DC/DC converter receives maximum power. The reference current of this converter is adjusted so that maximum power is delivered to the inverter. Finally, simulation is carried out that illustrates the efficacy of the suggested method.
