Abstract:
Background: The present study aims at identifying the influence of Hip-Hop dancing on eudaimonic well-being of non-athlete female students.Materials and Methods: The research method was of a longitudinal two-group study which includes experimental and control group. 40 non-athlete students (21.57±1.82 Age) asvoluntary enrolled and after that randomly selected and divided into two groups as control and experimental ones. The Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-being (1989) including 6subscales as autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations withothers, purpose in life, and self-acceptance were used to analyze the eudaimonic well-being parameters in the pre-test and post-tests of training. The treatment given to the experimental group includes three sessions (60 minutes) of training per week during a 12 weeks program. There was no organized training for control group. A series of statistical procedures including Repeated Measure Analysis of Variance, Independent-Samples t-test were run for the purposeof analyzing the data. Results: The results indicated significant differences in eudaimonic well-being and itssubscales, except for the purpose in life parameter the 3 phases of tests in the experimental group. Also, the results indicate significant differences between the two groups with regard to eudaimonic well-being and its subscale, except for the purpose in life parameter. Conclusion: Positive influences of 12 weeks Hip-Hop dancing on eudaimonic well-being of the female students is quite noticeable. The result of present study emphasizes the important role of the regular physical activity such as Hip-Hop dancing on progression of the well-being parameters.
