خلاصه مقاله:
Background: The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between emotional intelligence and communication skills in athletes. Materials and Methods: The methodology in this study was of a descriptive-field kind. The populations in this study were all the athletes in region 10 in Tehran. The instruments fordata collection included demographics questionnaire, Bar-On (2006) emotional intelligence Questionnaire, and Burton (1990) communication skills Questionnaire. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationship between emotional intelligenceand communication skills in athletes. Results and Discussions: The results show that results show that the verbal skills and selfdirecthave significant relationship exists (r = 0.306, p = 0.027) and between problem-solving skills with feedback (r = .276, p = .47), stress tolerance (r = .417, p = .002), self-actualization(r = .306, p = 0.028), realism (r = .437, p = .001), self-expression (r = .553, p = .000) and emotional intelligence (r = .382, p = .005). But between emotional intelligence and other skills, there is no significant relationship. Also relationship between feedback skills and (r =.312, p = .024), stress tolerance (r = .405, p = .003), self-actualization (r = .312, p = 0.024), realism (r = .357, p = .009), self-esteem (r = .307, p = .027) and emotional intelligence (r =.363, p = .008). But there is no significant relationship between feedback skills and other variables of EI. Conclusion: Considering the findings of the research regarding the relationship between emotional intelligence and communication skills and its dimensions, in order to Determining the levels of emotional intelligence and communication skills and effectiveness factors on its.
