Abstract:

Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between organizational culture and employee empowerment in the universities of Bojnoord. Materials and methods: This was an applied correlation survey. The population consisted of all employees in the universities of Bojnoord. Based on the Kerejsi and Morgan table and using the stratified relative random sampling, the sample size was determined 170 cases. The Denison organizational culture standard questionnaire that has38 five-choice questions (Likert scale) in four dimensions (participation, bureaucratic,flexible and mission) was used for collecting the data. Data were analyzed using SPSS and descriptive and inferential statistics.Results and discussion: The findings showed that there is a direct, positive, andsignificant relationship between organizational culture and empowerment of employeesat the universities of Bojnoord. The degree of correlation between cultural participation and empowerment of employees, bureaucratic culture and employees’ empowerment, flexible culture and employees’ empowerment, and mission culture, and employees’empowerment. It was 0.575, 0.694, 0.673, and 0.638, respectively. Conclusion: The results showed that if the organizational culture empowers employees, they will be more motivated to do their job
