خلاصه مقاله:
A growing number of patients are crossing borders for health services they cannot obtain or access home. Medical tourists journey for everything from fertility and liposuction treatments to heart surgery and chemotherapy. Risks and Challenges in Medical Tourism provides a comprehensive examination of what happens when health care becomes a global commodity. The purpose of this paper to explore their views concerning risks that medical tourists may be uncovered in purchasing private medical care abroad. The results show that policies and rules, government support, it costs, capacity problems, and the medical needs of the local society are the major barriers to the development of thus tourism. Several strategies for lifting these barriers are suggested, such as new promotional activity policies, overnment action to encourage finance in the medical tourism market place, and cooperative efforts by the hospitality segment and medical institutions to develop health tourism products
