Recently, the security and compression in video communications have become essential in commercial and military applications. The video compression standard, H.264/AVC, has improved the compression performance compared with previous standards, greatly. Therefore, in this paper a new selective encryption (SE) method is used to protect H.264/AVC video bitstream so that the format compliant property is also preserved. Also this method has no effect on compression performance.
