Abstract:
Single cell protein (SCP) was produced by aerobic fermentation of natural gas by Methylomonas. A continuous system was developed on a bubble column bioreactor, and batch systems were arisen as inoculums in sealed flasks. The experiments were conducted under controlled pH (7) and temperature (32 °C) conditions. The Tughochi method was used for the system optimization with 4 variables in 3 levels. According to the optimum condition result the maximum protein content of biomass was 69.25%.
