The present study investigated the effects of organic additives on the ability of metal extraction of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (At. f). For this purpose, At. f cultivated with 9k medium and modified 9k medium which supplemented with peptone, tryptic soy broth and yeast extract (organic additives) in the presence of 15% low-grade ores. Then, the metal extraction, pH and Eh value were measured in 24h intervals. The results showed that the trends of metal solublization, evolution of pH and Eh were improved in system with organic elements. Thus, these organic additives can be used for bioextraction of metals from low grade ore
