خلاصه مقاله:
According to Kincheloe and Steinburg (1997) , critical pedagogy is defined as a philosophy of education and social movement that combines education with critical theory which stresses the reflective assessments and critique of society and culture by applying knowledge from the social sciences and the humanities . Accordingly, Kincheloe (2008) stated that critical pedagogy is grounded on a social and educational vision of justice and equality and constructed on the belief that education is dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering .In fact, critical pedagogy is infused with the impassioned spirit of Freire (1998) who maintained that education has much to do with the teachable heart, and love is the basis of an education that seeks justice, equality and genius. These ideas seem to be rooted in Islamic teachings quoted in holy Quran and other Islamic texts. This study aims to investigate the intertwined facets of Critical Pedagogy and its newly introduced version, Islamic Critical Pedagogy, and the priority of the latter , as the right path to educational salvation ,over the former which seems to lack some vital features in accordance with Islamic teachings
