Abstract:
In a glasshouse experiment with several plants; biological sludge (BS) of petrochemical residues with 60-70% organic matter were applied of dry weight rates of 0,1.7, 3.4,6.8, 10.2, and 13.6 g dw.kg-1 (5TTo−respectively) to the pots having 10 kg soil. The dry weight rates equal to 0, 0, 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40-ton dw.kg-1. Tomato, lettuce, broccoli, wheat seeds and gladiolus tubers were sown and thereafter seeding was transplanted into pots containing 10 kg soil with 8 replications. As indicated in results, the BS tolerances of plants were varied with its level of application. Broccoli showed the maximum tolerance to the high level of BS while gladiolus was very sensitive. Also, wheat plants tolerated BS better than the tomato and lettuce.
