In this work, a multivariable control strategy based on fuzzy logic control techniques is proposed for the control of variable speed wind turbines. The proposed control strategy is described for the whole operating region of the wind turbine (both partial and full load regimes). We present design of Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy controller for variable speed wind turbines and it has been optimized using PSO Algorithm. A 2MW wind turbine is considered to show the good performances brought by the proposed approach by presenting and discussing the simulation results.
