Groundwater Contamination Dispersion Modeling

In order to predict the groundwater contamination concentration at various points and times, we can use either groundwater contamination modeling software or we can conduct some groundwater samplings which require having lots of boreholes in the contaminated site. Groundwater contamination modeling softwares are produced via computer programming. The base models for each of the mentioned softwares take in to account both kind of contamination transfer: conduction (dispersion) and convection (transfer via bulk flow). In this article, the principles of writing a contamination dispersion computer program have been explained and some useful ready to use softwares have also been introduced.
