خلاصه مقاله:
This investigation was designed to evaluate the growth kinetics of Yeast BBRC-9026 over a wide range of initial phenol concentrations (133-2000 mg/l) in batch cultures. Yeast BBRC-9026 was chosen as the best strain following isolation of phenol degrading microorganisms from acclimatized activated sludge and investigation of each strain performance on phenol, in presence and absence of co-substrate. In the next phase, Yeast BBRC-9026's growth on different initial phenol concentrations, and phenol degradation versus time were examined in shaking flask scale, with constant initial cell density. The kinetics constants obtained by modeling the growth kinetics of Yeast BBRC-9026 according to the Haldane model, and with the help of MATLAB 6.5 were µm=0.2674 1/h, Ks= 398.586 mg/l, and KI= 214.1448 mg/l. This kinetics model is a good tool for simulating and scale-up in designing an industrial wastewater bio-treatment process.
