Abstract:
Modeling and Simulation of naphtha reforming into aromatic compounds with high octane numbers or Catalytic Reforming in Bandar-Imam Petrochemical Complex has been investigated in this research. The model of the system is comprised of 26 component mass balances for 26 components existing in the mixture and one energy balance equation. These equations have been written based on 47 chemical reactions. The process composed of four chemical reactors, one flash drum and recycle streams. For process simulation, the differential equations are solved for each reactor using 4 th order Runge-Kutta method. Outlet of the flash drum is recycled to the first and third reactor. The simulation is continued until no significant changes on reactors and flash drum outlets are seen. The results of simulation in terms of components yields and temperature of the outlet liquid stream from the flash drum are in good agreement with empirical data.
