Abstract:

Studies on stem cells have created new possibilities for osseous defects therapies. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can give rise to a variety of adult cell types including osteoblasts .They thus play important roles in many biological processes such as bone implant bio-integration and constitute one of the most promising seed cells in bone tissue engineering. Scopoletin (6-methoxy-7-hydroxycoumarin) is a coumarin compound and a pharmacologically active agent that has been isolated from several plant species. In the current study, the effect of Scopoletin substance on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) proliferation and differentiation was evaluated.
