Abstract:
Angiogenesis, the neovascularization process, is a prerequisite for growth of solid tumors, and its inhibition is amongst the most effective cancer treatment strategies. Endostatin is an endogenous inhibitor of angiogenesis derived from the noncollagenous domain 1 of collagen XVIII. The anti-migration, anti-permeability and anti-tumor activities of full-length endostatin can be mimicked by its peptide fragments. In the present study, a novel peptide was designed and synthesized based on the surface regions of endostatin’s N-terminal domain and it’s in vitro and in vivo activities was investigated.
